The enigma of life is to be found within the visible and tangible.
With my projects I intent to
reveal what is hidden, and hide what is too often revealed.
The Nature of Things is a photo book (in
progress) which shows my search for the deeper layers in human, animal and nature.
With this work I try to rhyme life and death in a visual manner by exploring
the ambiguous relation between man and nature.
One layer shows relentless
nature in autonomous images. The raw scenes, which I found in the Netherlands,
Scotland, Tunis, Sweden and Spain, carry a promise of death within them but at
the same time show immortality.
Another layer documents the radical
consequences of humans urge to give meaning to life.
A macabre beauty is the result of human and
nature getting entangled in unforeseen ways.
The Nature
of Things manoeuvers within these themes.
